Coal India priced at Rs. 245 per shareOn Monday, 25 October 2010 the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM), fasten the issue price for the extra-large share sale of Coal India at Rs. 245 a share, the highest end of the Rs. 225- Rs. 245 per share price band. Employees of the company and the retail investors and will get a 5% markdown.

The government has wiped up approximately Rs. 15,500 crore through the Coal India (CIL) initial public offering (IPO). The IPO was subscribed 15.28 times and was unwrapped for offer amid 18 and 21 October 2010.

Investors had designed a beeline for shares of state-hold CIL, pumping in bids for 965.02 crore shares, contrasted with 63.16 crore shares on proposal.

The non-institutional investors' (NII) class that mostly consists of high net worth persons and corporate was subscribed 25.4 times, the retail investor’s domain was subscribed 2.31 times and the qualified institutional buyers (QIB) domain was subscribed 24.7 times.

On the other hand, the employee reservation domain was subscribed only 10%.
