Chrysler launches two new models in the UK

Chrysler launches two new models in the UKFiat group’s Chrysler has announced the launch of two new models in the UK: the Ypsilon and the Delta.

The two models are already on sale with the Lancia badge in some European countries. Lancia, has withdrawn from the UK market more than a decade ago mainly due to poor reputation of its models and has chosen to launch the new model under Chryslers instead of taking the risks of a re-launch.

Chrysler Ypsilon, which is a small city car, shares its platform as well as TwinAir petrol, 1.2-litre FIRE petrol and 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engines with Fiat 500. The company is aiming to position the moel as a luxury small car and is thus offering extra features including an automatic parking system, cruise control, Blue&Me Bluetooth and a powerful surround sound audio system. The model will come with a starting price £10,640.

The larger of the two, Delta, which is claimed to be the most spacious model in the class, will come with park assist, Bluetooth and lane departure assist. The model come with two 1.4-litre petrols and two diesels, a 1.6 with 120bhp and a range-topping 165bhp 2.0-litre MultiJet engines. The entry level S model starts at £16,695, while mid spec SE models start at £18,495.
