Chetan advances to pre-quarterfinal of Macau OpenIndian ace shuttler Chetan Anand has stormed into the pre-quarterfinals of the men's singles event in the Macau Open Grand Prix in China after winning his second round match. Arvind Bhatt also made into the pre-quarterfinal round while four other Indians failed to win their matches.

The seventh seeded Chetan ousted Chinese Taipei's Jen Hao Hsu's in straight sets by 21-10 21-14 in just 30 minutes to move to the next round. Arvind, seeded 10th in the tournament, raced away with the match against his compatriot RMV Gurusaidatt 21-16 18-21 21-15 in 53 minutes in the second round.

P Kashyap, Sayali Gokhale and Aditi Mutatkar were among the Indian shuttlers who lost their matches to crash out from the tournament. The 14th seeded Kashyap lost his match against Chinese Huan Gao 17-21 21-17 21-11 in 1 hour and 10 minutes. Ajay Jayaram and Olympian Anup Sridhar had already crashed out.
