Cheers for First Indian Badminton Couple

It was a moment to cherish for the First Indian Badminton couple Chetan Cheers for First Indian Badminton CoupleAnand and Jwala Gutta as they won the $50,000, Bitburger Open Grand Prix.The duo created ripples of joy on winning the men' singles and mixed doubles titles.

The Indian contingent was elated as it was the first time in the history of Indian Badminton that two titles were won at the same event. For Chetan it is the beginning of a new chapter as he is the first player in seven years to have won a tournament above the international challenger level and also his fourth title in this year giving him a 5000 ranking points lead.

Pullela Gopichand had won the All England Championship in 2001.The player had not been able to play at the Beijing Olympics due to a row with the Badminton Association of India (BAI) 

Chetan won the nerve raking match against Arvind Bhat and said "When I went 14-19 down in the decider, I remembered the Goa nationals earlier in the year where I just played on his patience to win. I played the same way and thankfully the strategy worked once again"

The Mixed Doubles Title was won by Jwala Gutta and Diju Valiyaveetil after defeating the eight-seeded pair of Joachim Nielsen and Christinna Pederson.However, Aditi Mutatkar lost the chance of becoming only the second Indian women after Saina Nehwal to win a Grand Prix Event. She lost to Maria Febe Kusumastuti.The Indian Badminton camp has all the reason in the world to celebrate and for now one can easily predict Indian Victory in many Grand Prix's in the future.
