Beetel, India's leading telephone brand, has launched the CB 67000 Lazer, the slimmest cordless phone in the country.

British billionaire Sir Richard Branson has finally launched his telecom brand “Virgin Mobile” in India under a franchisee agreement with CDMA major Tata Teleservices.

Under the deal, Tata Teleservices, which is the second largest CDMA operator with 22 million customers, will sell the mobile service under the brand name of Virgin Mobile to target young consumers. The venture will offer music, entertainment and news about Indian film industry, sports and stock market.

This is Virgin Group's seventh launch after Australia, Canada, France, the UK, the US and South Africa, and the investment would be the largest in the country.

Chennai: Lakhs of BSNL mobile users were frustrated and fuming due to disrupted BSNL services for hours in Chennai, for the second consecutive day. The customers of state owned BSNL net work in the city, Coimbatore and the western regions of Chennai experienced service break down for hours.

Sources say the electrical snag at the Coimbatore switching unit had set off a crisis on the Haddows Road unit. The services were disrupted after the switching unit on Haddows Road crashed under the load of excessive call traffic.
