The global financial crisis has taken its toll on the Tourism Industry. At a meeting with the members of the Federation of Hotels and Restaurants Association of India (FHRAI), the Government suggested that hotels should slash their tariffs by 10 to 15 percent.

Sharjah, 11th Nov. 2008 -- Sharjah is planning to add over 5,000 new hotel rooms in the next two years, increasing the total number of hotel rooms to 12,000 rooms by 2010, a senior tourist official has disclosed.

Experiencing a sharp decline in hotel bookings and low revenue returns from network advertising, Disney's shares slid 9%, recovering a little after executives stimulated bookings by announcing hotel discounts, during the first half of 2009.
