Paprikaas mulls new animation studio

Nandish Domlur, CEO and founder of the Bangalore-based digital content production company, Paprikaas Technicolor, feels the time is not ripe for India to get into content production yet. it has a lot more to learn from international companies, says the chief of the company which services big animation and gaming giants like Nickelodeon and EA Sports. In a chat with DNA Money’s Pranav Nambiar, Domlur discusses the state of the animation industry and his future plans.

Cinemax India promoters pledges 41% stake; Mangalore Chemicals pledges 20%Cinemax India, owners of multiplex properties, informed today that two of its promoters have pledged 41 per cent stake for an undisclosed amount.

According to official release, two of its promoters have pledged 1,14,80,000 shares representing 41 per cent stake.

Mr Rasesh Kanakia has pledged 53,17,000 shares representing 19 per cent, while Mr Himanshu B Kanakia has pledged 61,63,000 shares, or 22 per cent stake, the release added.

Hulu disconnects itself from Tv.com

Hulu disconnects itself from Tv.com  The content by American web TV portal Hulu.com has been yanked its content off CBS-owned TV.com. This happened after the site’s recent re-launch as a potential rival for ad-driven streaming television.

Basically, Hulu is a JV between media giants NBC and News Corp and both are CBS competitors. However, Hulu signed on to TV.com early as a distribution partner. Since the TV.com concentrated on being a community site based on user-created content that just happened to present some syndicated content, the pact worked. 

Indiagames launches Dev D video game

Dev DOnline gaming and mobile games company, Indiagames on Monday launched its latest mobile game, 'Dev D', joining bollywood films Ghajini and Chandni Chowk to China which have been converted into video games.

Dev D was launched by Indiagames' CEO Vishal Gondal in the presence of the two leading actresses, Mahi and Kalki, of the Abhay Deol's film.

Vishal Gondal, CEO, Indiagames, said, "Movie companies have started looking at mobile gaming very seriously as an opportunity. This year has been great for us as we have started with 'Ghajani', followed by 'Chandni Chowk to China', and now we are doing 'Dev D'."
