BhelFor the year ending March 31, 2009, the turnover of the Power Sector Southern Region (PSSR) division - which is the engineering, procurement and construction wing of the state-managed Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) - has crossed the Rs. 1,000-crore mark! The precise turnover figures stand at Rs. 1,000.40 crore as compared to the earlier year figures of Rs. 675 crore.

Suven Life to raise about $20 million for phase two trial of Alzheimer disease

Suven Life SciencesIn a latest development, Hyderabad-based drug developer Suven Life Sciences has informed that its molecule for Alzheimer's disease will soon enter phase two trials.

According to sources, the phase two trials will cost the company $20 million. The company is presently in the process of raising funds for the trials through a combination of debt, equity and strategic partner.

Last week, the company announced that more than half-a-dozen companies have shown interest in partnering the company for developing 'SUVN 502' molecule.

RCom to open 82 new stores in Punjab

Reliance CommunicationsReliance Communications informed on Tuesday that it will open 82 new exclusive mobile stores in Punjab under its expansion programme.

Under the arrangement, the company would undertake expansion drive across several districts of state including Amritsar, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala.

According to company officials, the latest move is to bring affordable services closer to the people of Punjab and provide easier and faster access to world class telecommunications solutions.

Gemini Communication to demerge its system integration business

Gemini CommunicationThe Chennai-based networking solutions provider Gemini Communication plans to demerge its system integration business comprising enterprise convergence group, wireless and telecom and 4S divisions to a separate company.

However, the company will retain the technical services division to the telecom sector; PointRed Telecom and radio frequency identification (RFID) businesses.

It may be noted that the company's board has proposed to make a preferential allotment of up to 97,18,000 warrants with option to convert them into 97,18,000 equity shares for working capital requirement.
