Tata-owned Jaguar may receive a 800-million pound refinancing loan

Jaguar Land RoverAccording to the Sunday Times, an 800-million pound refinancing loan for the Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) appears to be on the cards, given the "advanced talks" of the company with British ministers and a banking syndicate led by the Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds TSB.

The talks have been somewhat slow since November 2008, with officials being overwhelmed by "the size and power of the vast Tata business empire."

CVC instructs DoT to investigate “under-reporting” by Bharti Airtel

Central Vigilance CommissionWith Member of Parliament Ajay Chakraborty allegedly complaining against Bharti Airtel with regard to its revenue reporting on its national long distance license (NLD), the company has come under the scrutiny of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

Chakraborty has alleged that the under-reporting, "anti competitive practice of Bharti Airtel in long distance carriage" may well have resulted in Rs 100 crore yearly losses to the government.

MicrosoftMicrosoft on Friday morning fixed its previous day glitch affecting its MSN, Windows Live and Hotmail services. The “temporary outage” caused widespread panic among users when their sign up was invalidated with their inboxes disappearing, and instructions for signing up a new e-mail account!  

Late Thursday night, Microsoft assured the users that their inboxes as well as e-mails were “safe,” and that the quandary resulted from an “incorrect message,” which apparently had been sent out during the company’s “routine maintenance” procedure.

IFC All Set To Make Investment In Chinese Firm Honiton EnergyThe International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has decided to provide both equity and debt to china-based wind energy developer, Honiton Energy Caymans Plc.

The Tanti Group, promoters of India's top wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy Ltd, holds a 23.6% equity stake in Honiton Energy.

Honiton Energy plans to build up about 1,600 MW of wind energy capacity by the next three years (2012) in China's Inner Mongolia region.

Jubilant Organosys ties knot with Orion

Jubilant Organosys ties knot with Orion Pharmaceutical company Jubilant Organosys on Thursday said it has joined hands with a Finland-based firm Orion for the discovery of drugs.

The company stated in a release, that its two subsidiaries Jubilant Biosys Ltd (Bangalore based) and Jubilant Chemsys Ltd (Noida based), has entered into a pact with a Finland-based firm Orion.

Under this "Hybrid & Integrated" arrangement, Orion will have the option of utilizing resources flexibly from both Jubilant Biosys Ltd and Jubilant Chemsys Ltd based on the requirements of its drug discovery projects.
