Country’s largest oil and gas explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corporation ONGC To Enter Uranium Mining Business In India With UCI  Limited (ONGC) plans to enter uranium mining business in alliance with public-sector Uranium Corporation of India (UCI), the only company producing nuclear power in India.

As the Indo-US nuclear deal is near finalization, the company sees this as a good time to enter into the business. It aims to tap the business opportunity from nuclear fuel shortage in Asia's third largest economy.

M&M inks MoU with Maharashtra Government to upgrade two ITIs

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M), one of India's leading auto brands, has signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government to upgrade two Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the public private partnership (PPP) scheme approved by the union government.

Under the MoU, an Institute Development Plan (IDP) will be jointly prepared by the Institute Management Committee (IMC) and Mahindra to ensure required trades in terms of both numbers and quality.

The union government plans to upgrade a total of about 1,400 ITIs under the PPP scheme. The ITIs will be upgraded by Mahindra at Ghodegaon and Manikdoh to help create employment opportunities in the state.

The country's largest lead acid battery manufacturer, Exide Industries Ltd Exide Industries To Invest Rs 180 Crore On Capacity Expansionplans to invest Rs 180 crore in the current fiscal to raise capacity by 20 per cent.

Under the proposed plan, the company will invest Rs 180 crore, out of which Rs 90 crore will be invested in automotive segment and Rs 60 crore to raise capacity by 20 per cent.

The company also expects to double its supplies to the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are likely to reach 5 million units a year, from the present level of 2.5 million units, in 2009-10.
