Germany's Daimler pushing electric car programme

DaimlerStuttgart, Germany  - Daimler AG is pushing ahead with its programme on electrically powered cars, aiming at producing around 10,000 vehicles by 2012, Thomas Weber, director for research and development said in Stuttgart Saturday.

"By 2010 we will be very close to series production and aim to start with limited numbers in the hundreds," Weber told Deutsche Presse-Agentur.

"Our aim is to cover costs by 2010. By 2012 we would be producing around 10,000 units," he said.

Daimler was also pushing ahead with research on fuel cells, Weber said.

Adani Power Inks Power Purchase Pact With Haryana Govt

Adani Power Limited (APL) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Adani Power Inks Power Purchase Pact With Haryana GovtHaryana Government for supply of 1424 MW of Power for 25 years.

The bid was awarded to APL based on a competitive tariff bidding process which had taken place a few months ago.

The power will be supplied from the company's under-construction power generation facility in Mundra, Kutch, at the rate of Rs 2.94 per unit.

HCC Consortium Secures Order Worth Rs 1398 Crore

Infrastructure firm Hindustan Construction Company -led joint venture has HCC Consortium Secures Order Worth Rs 1398 Crorebagged a contract worth Rs 1,398.50 crore from Andhra Pradesh Government for irrigation project.

The order, part of the J Chokka Rao Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme, has been awarded by the Irrigation & Command Area Development (ICAD) department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

HCC has a share of 45% or Rs 629.33 crore in the total value of the contract.

Power Grid Forms JV Company With Teesta Urja

The state-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has Power Grid Forms JV Company With Teesta Urja entered into a Shareholder’s Agreement with Teesta Urja Ltd to form a Joint Venture Company named “Teestavalley Power Transmission Limited”.  

Under the arrangement, Power Grid and Teesta Urja will have 26% and 74% stake respectively in the Joint Venture Company.  

The JV company will develop associated transmission system for evacuation of power from 1200 MW Teesta-III Hydro Electric Project (HEP) being developed in Sikkim by Teesta Urja Ltd.
