Borde felicitated by MCAFormer India cricketer Chandu Borde has been felicitated by the Maharashtra Cricket Association on his 75th birthday at the Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Pune on Tuesday night in a function, which included many dignitaries.

Ajit Wadekar, Bapu Nadkarni, film actor Nana Patekar and Justice Chandrashekhar Dharmadhikari were among the dignitaries, who participated in the function organized by MCA.

Borde has been one of the greatest ever cricketer in the Indian cricket history who played 55 Tests  matches in which he scored 3,061 runs including five centuries and also took 52 wickets with his leg break bowling.

The beat performance with bat by Borde was against Pakistan at Nehru Stadium, Chennai in 1961, when he scored 177 runs, while in bowling five wickets for 88 against M.J.K. Smith’s England at Chennai in 1964 was his standout performance.

The cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar thanked Borde for the guidance provided by him during his test debut tour of Pakistan in 1989, and he praised his contribution in the Indian cricket history.
