BO Report: Super Start For ‘Raaz-TMC’; ‘Slumdog’ Picks Up!

BO Report: Super Start For ‘Raaz-TMC’; ‘Slumdog’ Picks Up!After a disappointing week, which saw the release of Chandni Chowk To China (CC2C), Bhatt’s Raaz - The Mystery Continues and Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire have brought smile back to viewers’ faces on Friday.

The audiences welcomed both the films with open arms.

At several cinema halls, Raaz - TMC got 70-80% start that was almost double of Hashmi’s last hit ‘Jannat’, and much bigger than last week’s release ‘CC2C’.

The film Raaz, which cost just 1/3rd of CC2C, received much bigger response than that film.

The evening shows of the mystery-thriller (Raaz – TMC) were packed all over and the viewers’ response is superb.

The film (RTMC) is surely a big success, but it’s difficult to predict the success rate.

Raaz – TMC should be Emraan and director Mohit Suri's biggest opener thus far. The film was released across 900 cinema halls with 475 digital screens comprising 435 UFO’s and around 400 other cinemas.

Besides setting box office afire, the audience response for the film has been pretty amazing.

On the other hand, Slumdog Crorepati, the Hindi version of Slumdon Millionaire, which saw a weak opening, picked up towards the evening shows on Friday. Fox Star Studios released about 350 prints of the films, out of which 60 per cent were the Hindi version, sources said.

The multiplexers were hopeful at places, while the single screens weren’t.

But, the reports are great and that reflected in the evening shows at most plexes.

Several exhibitors said that business will surely go up in the coming days.
