Emraan Hashmi promotes 'Ungli' in Mumbai

Emraan HashmiNew Delhi, Nov 22 : Emraan Hashmi was recently spotted promoting his upcoming movie 'Ungli' in Mumbai.

Since, the movie is based on corruption issues, the 35-year old actor requested auto drivers in Mumbai not to refuse shorter fares.

While speaking to the media persons, Hashmi said, "This is the right of the common man, especially of senior citizens, because they face a lot of problems while travelling and, this is a pledge for them, and I request auto drivers to take them where senior citizens want to go.

Vidya Balan Emraan HashmiDubai, Nov 17 : Bollywood stars Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi are in Dubal for filming their upcoming film 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani.'

According to Gulf News, director Mohit Suri said that the film is set in the UAE, and hence major part of the project has to be shot in the most glamorous and populous city of the country.

Suri, who was shooting final UAE leg of production at Miracle Garden, added that though the city was generally treated for its high-tech buildings and modern landscapes, he wanted to romanticize it and show its softer side.

'Tigers' to release in India in January next year

Tigers' to release in India in January next yearToronto: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi-starrer 'Tigers', which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) recently, will hit theatres in India in January 2015.

The film, directed by the Oscar-winning Bosnian filmmaker Danis Tanovic, is based on the true story of a salesman, Syed Aamir Raza, with a multinational pharmaceutical firm in Pakistan.

'Tigers', which seeks to relay a broader message about the benefits of breastfeeding, delivers a harsh judgement on the practises of MNCs in developing countries like Pakistan.

Tanovic said that the film is likely to be released in India in January next year.

Humaima Malick likely to team up with Emraan

Humaima-Malick-Emraan-HashmiMumbai, July 1 : Pakistani actress Humaima Malick, acclaimed for her role in "Bol", has reportedly been approached for Kunal Deshmukh's next directorial venture that features Emraan Hashmi in the lead.

Deshmukh's yet untitled film will go on floors by the end of July.

A source close to the team said: "Humaima has been approached, but nothing is official right now. A screen test has been conducted, UTV and Kunal are looking at a fresh pairing for Emraan and if things would fall in place, in all probability she will step into the project."

"I always wanted to play versatile characters, it's just that I got slotted. I was only taking up films that were offered to me," Emraan said on the sidelines of a promotional event for the forthcoming film "Ghanchakkar" at the Park Hotel here Thursday.

Emraan-HashmiMumbai, June 11 : Emraan Hashmi, lead actor of "Ghanchakkar", says the film's team is leaving no stone unturned to promote it in various cities and on reality shows ahead of its June 28 release.

"There are more reality shows, we have very extensive city tours lined up," said the actor while sharing details about "Ghanchakkar" promotional plans.

"We are touring 8 to 10 cities for the promotion of the film. The film releases June 28 and we are going full throttle," the 34-year-old told reporters Monday on the sets of dance reality show "India's Dancing Superstar".

I hate dancing, says Emraan Hashmi

Emraan-HashmiMumbai, June 7 : Actor Emraan Hashmi, who recently grooved to the tunes of a qawwali number "Allah meherbaan" for his forthcoming release "Ghanchakkar", hates dancing.

The music of the film is composed by Amit Trivedi and it has four tracks and a remix number.

"I hate it. I try to wriggle out of it every time, but this time they kind of dragged me out of the van and caught me on gun point because the film is releasing. It took a lot of convincing," said the actor on the sets while shooting for the song here.

Coming out June 28, the film will see Emraan with Vidya Balan.

Emraan, Altaf Raja to perform live

"Emraan and Altaf will perform live in three cities, including Delhi, Ahmedabad and Indore. The promotions will begin by the mid of June," said a source.

'Ek Thi Daayan' opens with average weekend collection

Ek-Thi-DaayanMumbai, April 23 : The opening weekend collection of Emraan Hashmi-starrer "Ek Thi Daayan" is approximately Rs. 18.07 crore and trade pundits are calling it satisfactory business, keeping the unconventional theme of the movie in mind.

Sharing news of the film's box office collection in the opening weekend, trade guru Taran Adarsh tweeted: "'Ek Thi Daayan' collected approximately Rs. 18.07 crore in its opening weekend."

Made at a total cost of Rs. 24 crore, the film's first day collection was Rs. 6.24 crore net. It earned as much as Rs. 20 crore from non-theatrical sources, said a source.

Will be happy if 'Ek Thi Daayan' actresses get their due: Emraan

Emraan-HashmiMumbai, April 8 : Emraan Hashmi, who is playing the male lead in forthcoming supernatural thriller "Ek Thi Daayan", says a decision on the film's sequel depends upon its box office performance.

The actor, seen in hits such as "Murder" and "Gangster - A Love Story", says they will know about people's reaction to the movie "once it releases".

"Once the film does well, then we will make the sequel," the 34-year-old actor told IANS.

"If it is a great story and it is taken forward in a nice way, then I would like to be a part of it," he added.

"Yes, in the film Emraan pays tribute to Gulzar saab in a sequence. We thought of a fresh way and made it look more realistic," Iyer told IANS.

In the song "Yaaram", Emraan pays tribute to Guljar. It is a party song, which will see the actor coming to the bash with a book written by Guljar, opening it and singing a song from the book.

Emraan, Kareena to star in KJo-Ekta co-production

Emraan-Hashmi-Kareena-KapoorMumbai, Jan 26 : Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor have been finalised to feature in Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor's first co-production. The romantic drama will go on floors in September.

"Proud to share that the Dharma (Productions) and Balaji Motion Pictures joint venture stars Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor. (It goes) on floors in September 2013," tweeted Girish Johar, head of acquisition and distribution, Balaji Motion Pictures.

Girish Johar revealed to IANS that another actress is yet to be cast for the movie, which will be titled in "some time".
