Even after getting at the top slot in the Indian market dethroning the giant, Mercedes-Benz as far as the luxury cars are concerned, BMW is in no mood stay complacent in its market approach. The company has recently launched the new 5-Series for the Indian consumer which has been specially constructed for the launch in India.

The German luxury car major has launched the in two petrol variants - 535i and 523i and two diesel variants - 530d and 525d that can be ordered at any of the authorised BMW showrooms across the country.

In fact, Peter Kronschnabl, President, BMW India said that the 5-Series has always been a significant player as far as volumes are concerned in the BMW portfolio and keeping in mind the success the previous generation product has enjoyed, the expectations from the latest offering is certainly very high.

With the range starting at Rs. 38.9 lakh and going up to Rs 45.9 lakh, the cut throat pricing will surely disturb Mercedes even in the times to come. Moreover, it may be noted here that the 5-Series competed with the E-Class of Mercedes.
