BMW Indian now offering diesel version of MINI in India

BMW Indian now offering diesel version of MINI in IndiaGerman luxury car maker, BMW has announced the launch of a new diesel version of its MINI Cooper D Countryman in the Indian market.

The launch of MINI Cooper D Countryman comes just days after the company said that it would start production of the Mini Countryman at its plant near Chennai in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The company might be looking to offer the model at a cheaper price in the country after beginning local production at the plant.

The company will offer `Made in India' Mini Countryman in two diesel variants including, Mini Cooper D Countryman and Mini Cooper D Countryman High, which are already on sale in the country. The two new diesel variants will be powered by 1.6 liter diesel engine, offering 122 ps power and 270 Nm torque. BMW will also produce a pet version, Mini One Countryman in the country. It indicated that other model including petrol Mini Cooper Countryman, Mini Cooper, Mini Cooper S and Mini Cooper Convertible will continue to be imported from abroad into the country.

The new MINI Cooper D Countryman is now available across MINI dealerships in India and the model now comes with a price tag of Rs 25.60 lakhs.
