BlackBerry Plans to Expand Its Asian Market

BlackBerry Plans to Expand Its Asian Market Renowned company Research in Motion, the maker of BlackBerry, as part of its business expansion policy has outlined policies as an attempt to expand its market in Asia. During the CommunicAsia telecom fair, organized in Singapore, the company had succeeded to grab the spot-light for its upcoming technologies.

Present market scenario has depicted that BlackBerry is still a leader among the smart phones in Indonesia, the Philippines as well as in Thailand. Referring to the first quarter of year, the RIM has shipped around 1.5 million BlackBerry handsets in the Asian market. Further, the sources have claimed that the company credits for the sale of around 8.5 million.

Approximately, a population of 400 million, together from Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand, has a liking for the BlackBerry's instant-messaging function. The desire can be considered as a source to boost BlackBerry in the market.

"If you look at the countries he (Wade) mentioned, those are good success stories for them despite the beating they are getting globally”, notified Byan Ma, an analyst with IDC. "In Indonesia, everyone wants to have a BlackBerry”.

Additionally, the technology research company, Gartner, the RIM has secured fourth position in the smart phone market globally, during the first quarter of 2011.
