Big B’s mother Teji Bachchan (93), who has been admitted in Lilavati Hospital for sometime, was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) after her condition became more serious.

According to hospital sources, “Teji Bachchan has been kept by the family at the hospital for almost a year now to ensure good nursing. She became serious today morning and has been kept under observation in the ICU.”

Members of the Bachchan and Rai family visited her in the hospital.

Mrs. Teji Bachchan belonged to an noble Sikh family from Karachi, Pakistan. She got married to Harivansh Rai Bachchan of Allahabad, and gave birth to Amitabh Bachchan in 1942.
