Bharat Forge Inks JV Deal With KPIT CumminsBharat Forge Ltd, a top global supplier of forged and machined components, and KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd, a leading product engineering and IT consulting partner to automotive and manufacturing companies, declared their decision to ink a joint venture (JV) deal in order to make and sell an indigenously developed hybrid technology solution for automobiles - Revolo.

The JV contract will permit both subsisting as well as new vehicles to dramatically raise their fuel efficiency plus engine performance, while significantly decreasing green house gas (GHG) emissions.

The technology for this intelligent plug-in, parallel, full-hybrid solution has been designed and engineered by KPIT Cummins, whereas the solution for automobiles would be made through a JV between Bharat Forge Limited and KPIT Cummins Infosystems Limited.

As part of JV, KPIT Cummins will accredit the technology to the JV whereas Bharat Forge would bring in its manufacturing, assembly and integration expertise to the JV.

The novel solution will be marketed to OEMs and fleet and individual vehicle owners via a network of certified and authorized dealerships.

'Revolo' is an indigenous and innovative solution, which has been conceptualized, developed and frugally engineered in India.

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) that examined the new hybrid solution (REVOLO), confirmed fuel efficiency gains of over 40% . Under city driving conditions the increase in efficiency has been above 60pc and reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) has been over 30%. (With Inputs from Agencies)
