Bhandarkar’s ‘Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji’ Gets ‘A’ Certificate!
Madhur Bhandarkar's upcoming film 'Dil Toh Bacha Hai Ji', which is ready to hit screens by coming Friday, acquired 'A' certificate from the censor board.
In spite of several cuts, the censor board issued 'A' certificate to the flick, which made the ace film director upset.
Bhandarkar told media persons that DTBHJ is specifically made for youth, but, the censor board deprived him of that chance.
"Once again I lose my audience between the 15 to 18 age group. I feel the film was meant for the growing youth but the censor board has deprived me of that chance," the director said.
The censor board is an eight member panel and four members saw the movie and suggested an 'A' certificate.
In order to get 'UA' certificate, the censor members are asking for 14 cuts in the flick.
But, Bhandarkar said no to take on this certificate and decided to take the flick to the revising board.
The director tried his best to persuade the board.
He said that there are many TV shows, which present offensive content, but viewers watch them with their kids as well as other members, there are many films that were meant for adult viewers but were provided 'U' certificate.
While Censor board stand by the proposal of providing A certificate to DTBHJ as they think that although the film's theme is good, but is not apt for family viewing.
