Better than Expected Third Quarter Report Posted by Motorola

MotorolaMotorola has delighted investors all over by posting a third quarter report which has managed to beat all Wall Street estimates. After posting surprising profits for Q3, the company has raised its fourth quarter forecasts considerably. The profits are being viewed as a direct result of the hype and speculation connected with the company's upcoming Droid smart-phone, which will feature Google's latest Android.

According to the figures posted, Motorola's third quarter profit stood firm at $12 Million, a significant improvement from last year's figures posted which showed a net loss of $397 Million.

"We delivered on our commitment to improve the financial performance of Mobile Devices and to commercially launch two smartphones in time for the fourth-quarter holiday season. The introductions of our new products powered by Android are important milestones", said Sanjay Jha, co-CEO of Motorola and CEO of its Mobile Devices unit.

Motorola, which has not had a very popular model after the RAZR, is banking heavily on its upcoming models, T-Mobile's Cliq and Verizon Wireless' Droid, both of which have received favorable reviews and are among the market's most speculated smart-phones.

Analysts and investors are, after the profitable figures posted, are looking at even better figures in the coming times, as Motorola plans to expand more into the smart-phones market in the coming year.
