Berkshire Hathaway reduced stake in Tesco

Berkshire Hathaway reduced stake in TescoBerkshire Hathaway Inc.'s has said in its annual report that ti has reduced its stake in U. K. supermarket leader Tesco.

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett's unit has disclosed in the annual statement that it reduced its stake during the previous year. Buffett's investment companyheld 3.7 percent of the company, which is the biggest retailer in the country, as on 31 December, 2013 compared to 5.2 percent a year earlier. Tesco had said that Berkshire held at 3.98 per cent in October in the previous year.

Investors consider actions of Berkshire Hathaway in the market in order to maximise returns due to the trust on its judgement on investments. The investment firm does not announce its investment decision publically but announces tis status in its annual report that is field with the regulators. Buffett is among the most successful investor in history in the country.

Tesco said that it will invest 200 million pounds or $334 million in its efforts to lower prices in order to improve profitability. The shares the super market fell 0.9 per cent to 326.1 pence on London Stock Exchange.
