Beretta to return Siena's bench
Rome - Serie A tail-enders Siena are set to hire their former coach Mario Beretta two weeks after firing Marco Giampaolo, Italian media reported Thursday.
The Tuscany side, on six points from 12 games, had youth-team coach Marco Baroni on the bench for the past two games.
Beretta, 50, coached Siena in 2006-2007, was fired after narrowly escaping relegation, but was called back nine games into the following season, again managing to remain in the top flight.
In the past season, he was fired from Lecce with 11 games remaining. His substitute Luigi De Canio failed to avoid relegation. (dpa)
