BBC iPlayer 3.0 to have Facebook and Twitter

Facebook-TwitterThe BBC iPlayer is going to have the popular social networking sites in its application list soon. The British Broadcasting Corporation is planning to include Facebook, Twitter and Bebo in to player's third iteration.

This version will allow its users to keep in touch with there Facebook friends and they can share their photos, videos through iPlayer.

According to sources, the recent trend in the market of using social networking sites frequently has forced the pubic funded broadcaster to endow some of the new features in to its iPlayer device.

The BBC's head of future media and technology Eric Huggers has informed indicated that his company is going to launch the beta version of iPlayer which is going to be third edition of the device. In current market scenario it is going to be a tough task for the BBC to launch and develop its own social network.

Therefore, it has decided to partner with some of the most preferred social networks for its upcoming iPlayer. Huggers said this while he was addressing at the Media Summit 2010 of The Guardian.
