Barclays finally launches mobile-based banking solution “Hello Money”

Barclays, major global finance provider, has launched `Hello Money', a mobile based bank transaction service in the country.

The Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) technology is used in this mobile solution, which is being used for the first time in India for banking services, and delivers banking solutions right at one’s fingertips.

Under the service, a person who has an account with the bank can transfer money to another account holder, pay credit card or utility bills and check his balance using a mobile phone.

The bank customers can also perform account enquiries and other financial transactions by simply dialing *598*#.

With the introduction of this service, customers can now carry their bank in their mobile, accessing banking services anywhere.

However, the bank will charge Rs 30 a month for the service. The service is open to all deposit-holders of the bank.

Presently, this service is available on all GSM handsets on the networks of Airtel, Vodafone and Idea in 40 cities, but the bank plans to soon extend to other telecom service providers also.
