Barack Obama bags Best Spoken Word Album Grammy
London, Feb 11: U. S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama aced out former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter for Best Spoken Word Album title in the 2008 Grammy Awards.
The Democratic presidential candidate won the award for the audio version of his book: ‘The Audacity Of Hope: Thoughts On Reclaiming The American Dream,’ reports The Sun.
Clinton was nominated for his book ‘Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World’ while Jimmy Carter was nominated for ‘Sunday Mornings in Plains: Bringing Peace to a Changing World.’
In addition to Clinton and Carter, Obama beat spoken word recordings by actor Alan Alda and poet Maya Angelou.
Besides the Grammy Award, Obama has the most recent nomination wins, securing the Louisiana primary, Nebraska and Washington states. (ANI)
