Bangalore’s Queen Road full of potholes
One of the busiest roads of Bangalore city is Queen's Road and now a days this road has become a nightmare for all the motorists due to various deep potholes on the surface of the road. It is estimated that around 1 lakh vehicle passes through this road in one day.
There are some potholes on the road which require immediate attention to avoid any major accident. Many dignitaries and politicians, including officials of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) use this road every day but none of them have noticed these potholes for repair.
More to add, the potholes are located just opposite to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office where thousands of social activists and Congress party workers visit the office every day but it is shameless on the part of the workers that none of them have taken the initiative to complain to the concerned authorities against this peril.
Two wheeler riders are the main victims of these potholes, one of the motorists Syed Ahmed said that previously BBMP authorities take the responsibility to fill up the potholes but now they are unwilling to step in this program.
Another two wheeler rider J Christopher said that these potholes became more dangerous at nights when they become invisible and if motorists fail to notice these potholes it might lead to a mis-happening.
On the other hand, Gunasekhar, Corporator, Jayamahal Ward had asked the engineers to prepare the list of roads containing potholes. He assures that BBMP officials will be appointed to fill up these potholes as soon as possible. Whereas Suresh, Executive Engineer, Shivajinagar Division, BBMP, said that project of filling the potholes have been assigned to the Karnataka Land Army and the list of roads that need immediate attention have already been submitted to Karnataka Land Army.
