BAI election- tough task for Azharuddin
Former captain of Indian cricket team, Mohammed Azharuddin has submitted his nomination for the presidential election of the Badminton Association of India (BAI). But the question in front of him is can he win the contest defeating the current President Mr. V K Verma.
There has been huge controversy over this election as V K Verma has said that Azharuddin is not eligible for the post and his intentions are not honest.
V K Verma has claimed that Azharuddin will not be able to get to the position.
As per the rules of the Badminton Association of India’s constitution it allows the individual those who have the support of two members of different state units. Only they have the right to cast their votes for the post.
This contest is going to be held on 13th June in which 28 states are going to participate. But the issue for Azharuddin is 27 out of 28 states have already voted in opposition of him. Only Uttarkhand is in support of the former cricket player. It has been expected that he can only manage to get 6 votes out of 64 votes in the BAI president’s election.
