Auto majors to offer additional discounts to consumers
After going through the record sales period for the first two months of 2010, auto majors are back with their discount schemes to lure more consumers.
As the sales have started to stammer over the past few weeks due to the excise duty rollback by the government, dealers are giving discount to the tune of Rs. 25,000 to 50,000 to ensure high sales.
Moreover, the multi-brand dealers are giving an additional discount of Rs. 10,000 to 15,000. Notably, the multi-brand car dealers ensure a better deal while finalising the terms and hence are in a better position to offer high discounts when the market is not at its peak.
In fact, with the BS-IV norms applicable from April 1 this year, another round of hike is expected. If the hike takes place, it will be the third hike after one announced in January accruing to the rising raw material costs and one recently announced due to the excise duty rollback.
In fact, the companies are planning to sign new deals with the dealers as far as the discounts offered to consumers are concerned.
