Australian singer Cilmi prefers Germans
Sydney - Teenage pop singer Gabriella Cilmi on Tuesday cancelled a first concert in her Melbourne hometown so she could appear on television in Germany.
The 17-year-old, whose debut album Lesson To Be Learned has been a hit in Germany, said she would be on a plane to Europe on December 7 rather than on stage in Australia's second-biggest city to appear at a TV show in Germany the following day.
Her agent said German television offered an audience of 5 million people compared with a few thousand at a Melbourne gig.
Ticket holders were promised refunds. (dpa)
