Audi India reports best ever March salesAudi India on Monday announced that it enjoyed a year-on-year 10 per cent jump in sales in March this year.

The Indian arm of the renowned luxury carmaker said that it sold a total of 1,104 units in the month of March this year, as compared with 1,002 units in the corresponding month of the previous year. It was Audi India's best ever March sales.

During the January to March quarter, Audi India sold a total of 2,616 units, up 15 per cent from 2,269 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Michael Perschke, head of Audi India, termed the first quarter of this year as a `winning quarter' for the company.

Commenting on the increase in sales, Mr. Perschke said, "Whether in motorsport or in business, the name Audi has been synonymous with winning. This has been the best ever quarter in the history of Audi in India."

In the full fiscal ending March 31, 2013, Audi India sold a total of 9,350 vehicles.

Mr. Perschke claimed that the company had surpassed its own sales targets and was on its way to achieve further growth. He further said that the company would expand its dealership base and introduce exciting new products in the current year.
