A-Rod’s ex-wife shares his tears during confessional interview

Alex Rodriguez New York, Feb 11 : Although Alex Rodriguez had broken ex-wife Cynthia's heart by `dating' Madonna, she was by his side during his emotional interview with ESPN in which he confessed that he used performance enhancing drugs in 2003.

Sitting off-camera, Cynthia watched him, clutching a tissue, with tears in her eyes as the Yankee slugger admitted to using steroids.

"It looked to me as though he had been crying, and it looked to me as if Cynthia had been crying," The New York Daily News quoted Willie Weinbaum, ESPN''s producer, as telling Newsday.

He added: "I was not upstairs with them, so I don''t know why they were together, but there is no doubt before the red light on the camera ever turned on, this was a very emotional period."

On February 7, Sports Illustrated reported that baseball''s biggest superstar tested positive for anabolic steroids in 2003, when he played for the Texas Rangers.

Also, reports suggest that when one of the couples'' daughters was ill, Rodriguez was seen partying in the Bahamas.

Last July Cynthia filed for divorce, blaming A-Rod''s "long period of infidelity" for busting up their marriage and accusing him of "emotionally abandoning" her and their children.

She reportedly told pals that Madonna was one of A-Rod''s many mistresses.

And finally in September Alex and Cynthia peacefully settled their multimillion-dollar divorce case following an ugly public battle. (ANI)
