AQ Khan threatens to make disclosures about Musharraf if detained further

President Pervez MusharrafLahore, June 25: The father of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, Dr AQ Khan, who was recently freed after four-year long house arrest, has warned President Pervez Musharraf against detaining him further, else he would make certain disclosures about him (Musharraf).

Only a day after assuming office in Islamabad, the PPP-led coalition had announced lifting of restrictions on Dr Khan’s movements.

Dr Khan said Musharraf had promised to lift restrictions on him but he had not yet delivered, reported the Daily Times.

He said he did not believe in a special list of people issued to him by the government that restricts his meetings.

Dr Khan also said he had told his lawyers that he should be allowed to move freely and meet anyone he liked.

He was kept under house arrest for the past four years after he admitted of supplying nuclear technology to other countries, including North Korea, Iran and Libya. But, after his release last month he disclosed that he had admitted to his guilt after the Musharraf regime gave him the assurance that he would not be harmed if in ‘national interest’ he admitted to secretly transferring nuclear knowhow.
