Apple releases iOS 5 operating system
Technology giant, Apple has released its new iOS 5 operating system for the users of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch weeks after it released the last version for developers.
The users first needed to download and install iTunes version 10.5 for accessing the new version of the firmware, which was made available from about 10 A. M. Pacific time. The iTunes 10.5 was also launched on Wednesday a day earlier so that the company is ready to manage the high number of users accessing its servers to download the update.
The user, who started installed the newly released update soon started facing problems in running their devices. The users started flooding Apple support forums, Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking sites with complaints about the issues with the new version.
The users were able to download the massive 800 megabytes for the iPhone 4 but when they tried to install the new version, iTunes popped up an error message. Apart from user complaints about the error installation message, several users who managed to update said they suffered lost/deleted applications and even bricked phones.
Apple claims that iOS 5 has over 200 new features and will make its devices more useful to the users.
