Apple earning lesser from newer iPads, says IHS iSuppli

Apple earning lesser from newer iPads, says IHS iSuppliGlobal research firm, IHS iSuppli has said that Apple is earning lesser profits from the each new version of the iPad tablet computer launched by the company.

IHS iSuppli analysts studied the components of the third generation of iPad, which was launched in the US market and nine other countries on Friday, and found that the company is using more expensive parts of the product while the price of the new version is the same has the earlier version of the tablet.

The newest iPad tablet comes in several versions starting at $499, which is the same price for the iPad 2 at the time of its launch in the previous year. Samsung components make up about half of the components on the tablet, according to the rerpot.

Apple generally releases a new tablet at the same price as the pervious version and reduces the price of the earlier version. A cheaper iPad 2 will pose a stiff competition other tablet makers in the market like Amazon and Samsung. The move will undercut manufactures that are trying to compete with Apple on the basis of lower prices.

Apple has not commented on the report.
