Anand draws sixth game with Topalov

Anand draws sixth game with TopalovDefending champion Viswanathan Anand of India has ended up in a draw. He was playing his sixth game with Veselin Topalov in the World Chess Championship. After 56-move, the draw has been decided but the Indian maintain his one-point lead over his counterpart. Anand has managed to get one point despite the draw.

At the halfway stage of the match, Viswanathan Anand was leading with3.5-2.5 points. However, Topalov had won the first game and then lost the second and fourth games. This sixth game has turned out to be a draw. Anand had won the previous two Catalan games in this match. But Topalov did not hesitate to go through the Catalan opening once again.

Then he has come into certain variation that had cost him the second game of the match. The Indian player Anand did play a good game with some aggressive moves. He has tried to steer the game into an early endgame but Topalov defended well and take the game in to a draw. The fifth and sixth games have been resulted as draw.
