Anand, Bhat Enters Semis Of Bitburger Open
It was certainly a good day for the Indians at the Bitburger Open badminton tournament in Germany on Friday. Indian shuttlers Chetan Anand and Arvind Bhat entered into the semi-finals of the tournament.
In a one sided match, fourth seed and national champion Chetan Anand defeated 10th seed Lithuanian Kestutis Navickas 21-10 21-17 in 24 minutes, while in a close encounter match, Arvind Bhat (7th seed) defeated fellow P Kashyap (16th seed) 21-15 17-21 21-15 in 53-minutes to reach the last four of the tournament.
In the women's single, Aditi Mutatkar crushed Carola Bott of Germany 21-13 21-10 in just 27 minutes.
In the mixed doubles, the Indian duo of V Diju and Jwala Gutta defeated fifth seed Denmark pair of Rasmus Bonde and Helle Nielsen 21-14 21-13 in just 24 minutes.
