All-electric 2024 Fiat 600e boasts attractive features and impressive range
The recently revealed 2024 Fiat 600e, which is based on Stellantis’ e-CMP2 platform, is apparently a blend of green credentials with family-friendly practicality. Mechanically related to the Jeep Avenger subcompact crossover SUV, the new 2024 Fiat 600e B-segment electric model shares its e-CMP2 platform with the likes of the upcoming all-electric Alfa Romeo. 600e offers seating for up to five adults and promises to deliver more than 400 km (approximately 250 miles) of range in the WLTP combined cycle thanks to its 54-kWh battery. On city roads, it claims to have a range of more than 600 km (roughly 373 miles) on a single charge.
The manufacturer of the 2024 Fiat 600e touts an impressive 12.7 cubic feet of cargo volume even with the rear seats in place, in addition to 0.5 cubic feet) inside the cabin thanks to various storage compartments.
It is also being called the reborn Fiat Seicento, even as it has little to share with the ICE-powered Seicento that was discontinued more than a decade ago. Instead of the predecessor’s three-door hatchback shape, it has received a more practical five-door crossover body. It measures 4.17 meters (roughly 164 inches) in length and can have wheels as big as 18 inches. The "600" logo appears at the front, but there is no Fiat badge at the front. The badge carrying the company’s name is only at the tailgate. Overall, the styling is quite familiar. The MINI brand also used the same recipe when it developed the Countryman from the Cooper hatchback.
Once the battery pack of the new EV gets depleted, it can be replenished at a charging rate of up to 100 kW. In that case, it takes less than 30 minutes to replenish the battery to 80 per cent of its full capacity. The electric motor (e-motor) rated at 154 hp (115 kW) churns out enough power to enable the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 9 seconds. Touted as being the Fiat 500e's big sibling, the new subcompact crossover SUV will also be made available with a hybrid powertrain starting from the mid of next year.
The interior of the EV comes equipped with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment, a 6-speaker sound system and much more.
In Europe, the new subcompact crossover SUV (in pure electric guise) will be available with a starting price tag of €35,950 for the so-called “Red” version and €40,950 for the step up “La Prima” version.
