Alienware Area-51 750i Desktop unveiled

Alienware Area-51 750i Desktop unveiled A new desktop for hardcore gaming has been launched by Alienware, dubbed as the new Area-51 750i desktop. It is quite noticeable from the name itself that the Area-51 750i desktop is built with Nvidia 750i SLI motherboard chipset, providing support for 45nm process-built quad-core processors.

The price tag which the Area-51 750i desktop would carry is expected to start from $1049 (Rs 52,450 approx.), and as one upgrades the components, the price even higher.

The users would be able to play all the recent DirectX 10-based games on it. The basic configuration includes a 45nm process-built Intel Penryn architecture-based Core 2 Duo processor clocked at 3 GHz with a 6MB cache and a 1333MHz FSB; a 2GB DDR2 RAM, 800MHz; and 750 and 250GB hard disks for storage.

Users can also upgrade the basic system with hardcore components like Intel Core 2 Extreme (12MB cache, 1333MHz FSB) CPU, 3TB hard drives with RAID configs, 4x dual layer Blu-ray burner, 8GB DDR2 memory, two Radeon HD 4870 X2 with graphic cards of 2GB video memory each or two Nvidia GeForce GTX 280 graphics cards of 1GB each, and 1200W multi-GPU approved power supply.

Though the price may appear high but the machine will definitely bring the high-end hardcore gaming components to the desktop. The desktop that offers the 64bit Vista Ultimate as an option, runs on the 64bit Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.
