Airtel launches 3G services in Delhi

Leading telecom service provider in India, Bharti Airtel, announced launch of its 3G services in capital city of India, New Delhi and in NCR as well.

Airtel is already operating 3G mobile telephone in 7 other cities in India namely, Begaluru, Coimbtore, Mysore, Udipi, Jaipur, Chennai and Manipal. Atul Bindal, Bharti Airtel (Mobile Services), said reporters that by the end of this month, Airtel will launch its services in all 13 license circles.

He also said about the tariffs that they will be customer-friendly and in order to save customers from 'bill-shock" company will give option to its customers to personalize their plans as per their budget. He said about the coverage of the service, "We expect to cover 40-45 cities with our 3G services in one month (by March end) and for the year ahead (next year by March) we expect to have our network coverage by over 1,000 cities."

Company said in a release that Airtel 3G enables its users enjoy video calls, mobile TV, high speed internet and makes social networks video enabled. Company is also launching several services like pay as you go among others. Customers can use video calls at 5 paisa per second. With this, Airtel also announced its unique internet usage calculator that helps customers to calculate their internet data usage.

Bharti at moment serves 500,000 3G users. Company won bid in 13 circles of 22 listed circles.
