After US, Canada comes against BPA

After US, Canada comes against BPAUnderstanding the harms that this one substance can do, Canada has decided that it will be fighting against Bisphenol A (BPA) so that it can eventually end its usage forever.

BPA is a substance that can mimic estrogen and has been related to many health-related problems. Most of these troubles are related to obesity and fertility problems.

Many a studies have shown that these human health related troubles are somewhere or the other connected to BPA.

And that is why even after it faced a lot of industrial opposition, BPA has been announced as a toxic substance by Canada and said that it should be dealt accordingly.

While the ruling was in process for quite some time, it was the efforts of the American Chemistry Council that has been trying to halt the whole process. It was in July, 2009 that the American Council had filed an objection and since then the systems have more or less moved at a snail's pace.

The council had claimed that BPA was safe and that there were no reasons to declare it toxic.
