Adobe Rolls Out Revamped Version Of Its AIR App DirectoryAdobe Systems has made announcement about the launching of a revamped version of its directory of AIR applications, which it has dubbed “AIR Marketplace”.

Presently, the “Marketplace” has almost 400 Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) apps, which lets users to search for applications by both name as well as developer.

In a major announcement, the company said, “The goal of the release is to provide a more user friendly destination for showcasing and downloading AIR applications.”

The website, which remains in beta, also features four new RSS feeds that exhibit “staff picks”, “most recently added”, “most popular” and “highest rated” applications.

The improved version also has an enhanced feedback forum and a new interface through which developers can easily manage their profile as well as applications and keep an eye on app statistics.

If the developers want to buy applications from other developer, he/she can insert a purchase link to their app - the “marketplace” doesn’t actually permit them buy the apps directly, but users can click a link, which will take them to the developer's Web site.

However, Marketplace doesn’t include expensive, premium apps – at least not yet, anyway.
