Adlabs buys ilab UK Ltd
Reliance MediaWorks, formerly known as Adlabs, has acquired iLabs UK, which is based in the Soho district of London. iLabs, which runs film-processing facilities, was acquired for an undisclosed amount.
RMW has grown in global significance and its presence has spread across the globe. The acquisition will strengthen that position. With ilab assets acquired, RMW is the owner of one of the only two film-processing facilities in the famed Soho district of London. It now offers front-end, processing, restoration, 2D to 3D conversion and post-production services to broadcasters and studios.
Commenting on the expansion and the acquisition, CEO of RMW Anil Arjun said, "Our expansion is growing at a remarkable pace. The UK is one of the world's leading post-production markets and now we have a presence there."
RMW UK was given image processing and restoration work for two BBC projects at its subsidiary Lowry Digital based in LA. Lowry Digital has the experience of handling projects for studios like Walt Disney, Paramount Pictures, MGM and 20th Century Fox and media men like George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and James Cameron.
Reliance Globalcom's Ethernet Private Line established an optical fibre for RMW so that it can further enhance capacity and synergies various services offered by the firm.
iLab has catered to high end projects from the BBC and runs offers service night and day for the commercials, feature and broadcast market.
In another development, Reliance Communication's DTH Reliance Big TV is in talks with Comedy Central, BBC and CNN for non-film HD content to be showcased on its PPV platform as it plans to acquire more content.
The company offers vide ranging services Visual Effects, Image processing, Digital Mastering and Motion Picture Processing.
