As per sources there will be as high as eight number of PSU issues are expected to hit the market in this fiscal year. The Union Cabinet is likely to consider the Initial Public Offering of Coal India tomorrow. The Government has every reason to be delighted as it has proposed a 10% disinvestment in the Coal India.
The Government is expecting to raise approximately Rs 12,000 crore from the stake sale. This is going to be the first disinvestment issue of this current fiscal year. Joint Secretary in the Department of Divestment, Mr. Siddharth Pradhan has informed that the major PSU to issue this year are SCI, MMTC and PowerGrid. Decision on Indian Oil FPO is likely to be taken this year as well.
