4-Year-old Old Cancer Patient marries her Favorite Nurse
A pediatric nurse has fulfilled the wish of his four-year-old cancer patient in New York. On Thursday, Matt Hickling at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancers at Albany Medical Center has married his patient, Abby.
Since her diagnosis with pre-B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, both, Abby and Hickling developed a great connection. Abby has shared her plan of marrying Hickling with her mother, who contacted Hickling to tell him about Abby's idea. He was ready for the marriage and started doing preparations with his co-workers.
The wedding preparations were completed in less than 24 hours. There was a bright, tuxedo T-shirt for the groom and a cute dress for the bride and Enchanted Garden Florist donated flowers. The ceremony took place at the medical center.
After the marriage ended, Abby's mother took to the Amazing Abby Facebook page and thanked everyone who was involved in making the wedding happen. Hickling said that he has married his patient.
Talking about the wedding, he shared that they had fantastic bridesmaids. Hickling said that he and Abby hugged each other and sealed the wedding with ring pops placed on their fingers. They then took a ride in 'Just Married' car and went back to the room for cake and photos.
The little bride was quite happy and stated that it was her best day ever. She loved twirling around in her dress, veil and bouquet.
