2022 BMW iX offers unique driving experience

German luxury automobile brand BMW’s new all-electric mid-size crossover SUV, the 2022 BMW iX, comes with a range of high-tech specs and attractive features that enable it to stand as an efficient challenger to the Tesla Model X Long Range.

The 2022 BMW xDrive50 comes equipped with dual electrically excited synchronous electric motor capable of producing 516 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of torque. Its battery pack takes just 31 minutes @ DC fast charger to get fully replenished, and a single full charge is enough to deliver a range of up to 315 miles (roughly 507 km). Prices of base model starts at $82,300 (plus destination charge of $995).

The interior of the EV is unique from almost every other BMW car. The cabin comes packed with top-end materials like crystalized knobs and matte wood trim. The center console creates a peninsula for essential functions like shift knob, volume, infotainment controller and the more. The center display features a 14.9-inch touchscreen. It comes accompanied by a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display. The manufacturer has equipped the system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto software. The two-spoke squircular steering wheel looks great. Behind the steering wheel, there is a monolith of glass, which hides two screens as part of the most recent iDrive 8 interface.

When it comes to seating capacity, the new BMW electric car offers a total of 5 comfortable seats, in 2/3 configuration. Its cargo capacity has been pegged at 35.5/77.9 cubic feet. The BMW iX’s 35.5/77.9 cubic feet cargo capacity is greater than that of the Audi E-Tron (28.5/56.4 cubic feet), Cadillac Lyriq (28.0/60.8 cubic feet), Jaguar I-Pace (0.95/ 25.3/ 51.0 cubic feet), as well as the Tesla Model X (21.5 / 92.3 cubic feet). The extremely comfortable good-looking faux leather chairs of the car are part of the optional $4K Convenience package. These chairs offer power adjustability with lumbar support, and a massage function.

Bumps and imperfect roads are not a big issue for the iX, thanks to the $1.6K Dynamic Handling package that adds a two-axle adaptive suspension system that promises soft and supple rides.

Featuring sharp body lines, floating roof, LED headlights & taillights, and drag coefficient of merely 0.25 cD; the BMW iX is a truly stylish vehicle. In short, the interior of the vehicle is an absolute marvel, the drive experience is completely unique and the technology is just unrivaled.
