Younis baffled by ball-tampering charges
Pakistan skipper Younis Khan was frustrated by the charge of ball tampering on the Pakistan team as umpires examined the ball again and again during their match against Ireland in the super eight round of ICC T20 World Cup at Lords on Monday.
Rudi Koertzen and Rod Tucker were umpires during match between Pakistan and Ireland and they checked the ball after every over as New Zealand had alleged Pakistan seamer Umar Gul with ball-tampering charges when Gul took five wickets for just six runs against New Zealand and made the new ball to reverse swing during their first Super Eight match at the Oval on Monday.
Younis said that it was very embarrassing for them as Rudi Koertzen and Rod Tucker were checking ball after every over. He added that Pakistani players are not cheaters.
Earlier, in 2006 Pakistan forfeited the match against England at the Oval when they were given five-run penalty by umpire Darrell Hair for ball-tampering charges.
