World under-21 championship to be held at Pune
Pune will host the Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) 2009 men's junior World (under-21) Championship which will start from July 31 at Balewadi.
There will be total 64matches in the tournament including 24 matches in the first and second rounds each while eight matches will be played in the semifinal round play-offs and eight matches in the final round play-offs.
All the 16 teams have been divided into four groups through a draw on Wednesday which was supervised by Shanrit Wongprasert, FIVB representative from Thailand.
India, USA, Tunisia and Belarus have been placed in Pool A, Iran, China, Egypt and Belgium in the Pool B, Argentina, France, Cuba and Greece in the Pool C and Brazil, Russia, Canada and Poland have been placed in the Pool D of the Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) 2009 men's junior World (under-21) Championship. India has made entry as the host nation while Tunisia and Egypt have qualified from the African confederation, Iran and China from Asia, France, Belgium, Russia, Greece, Poland and Belarus from Europe, Cuba, Canada and USA from North and Central America and Brazil and Argentina from South America.
