Twitter’s comes up with @ anywhere

Twitter’s comes up with @ anywhereA new feature was released by the micro blogging site, Twitter. It is named @anywhere.

It aims to link all the crucial partner sites such as the media outlets and online retailers.

This feature enables to pull in the list of all the links posted on the site and keep a track of all the tweets generated through the site.

@anywhere was launched by CEO Evan Williams during the Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin. He stressed that "Soon, sites many of us visit every day, will be able to recreate these open, engaging interactions, providing a new layer of value for visitors without sending them to Twitter. com".

It works by sending and receiving texts while browsing other websites. It is a single platform which allows users to look for relevant tweets, follow people and post their own status updates without leaving the site they are visiting.

On the other hand, third-party sites have to "drop in a few lines of Javascript" to enable @anywhere.

This feature strikes resemblance to its rival, Facebook which already has a feature of 'connect' that supports an aggregate 80,000 third-party sites.
