Seagate, the world’s leading provider of storage solutions, has unveiled its new ‘Seagate FreeAgent Theater HD Media Player’, a complete home theater solution designed to improve the experience of enjoying digital media by offering a simple way to play one’s favorite videos, films and pics on television.

Stockholm  - Nordic telecommunications group Telia Sonera said Monday it had given notice to 1,200 Swedish employees.

The move was in line with a cost-cutting package announced in February 2008, and would mainly impact its broadband services.

A year ago, the group said it planned to cut 2,900 jobs of which two-thirds were to impact Sweden.

The measure was estimated to cost some 3 billion kronor (378 million dollars) of which slightly more than half was to be carried in 2008.

Melbourne, Jan. 12 : In the wake of Hyderabad-based Satyam Computer Services'' billion dollar corporate scandal, the management of ANZ Bank has announced that it will reviewing its links with the firm.

ANZ Bank has around 100 Satyam contractors who support IT projects. The bank''s Indian subsidiary which employs under 2000 people, primarily uses these contractors.

Last week, the bank told its employees that it would develop a contingency plan, while admitting that its relationship with Satyam was "modest".

Hamburg  - Mac OS X's mail program sometimes stops showing all of the messages on launch. One potential cause of this is an extremely high number of e-mail messages in the inbox, particularly when that number reaches several thousand.

To solve the problem, copy the "mail" folder found in the Library section of the your private directory. Then open the original mail file and delete the "Envelope Index" found there.

Berlin  - Around 10 to 20 per cent of all computer users report aches and pains related to the use of the mouse.

"The repetition of stereotypical movements in particular can lead to chronic disorders," explains occupational psychologist Hardo Sorgatz from the Technical University of Darmstadt. Specialists often speak of repetitive stress injury (RSI) syndrome, known popularly as "mouse arm."

Hamburg  - Mini computers are often an alternative to traditional PCs, at least when it comes to standard tasks. Buyers of these devices are acquiring a full-value computer for an affordable price, concluded Computer Bild magazine in a test of eight models.

Mini PCs generally come with at least one DVD burner installed, and many also come with wireless LAN (WLAN) as well. While they generally contain very little space for expansion, it is nevertheless possible to upgrade the machines using external hard drives, TV cards, or WLAN antenna via the USB port.
